ICAO vs IATA Codes

ICAO — four letters
Used by pilots and air traffic control: KJFK, EGLL, LFPB. Every airfield has one, including the small strips private jets actually use. The first letter marks the region — K for the United States, E for northern Europe, L for southern Europe, U for Russia and Central Asia.
IATA — three letters
Used by airlines and on tickets: JFK, LHR, LBG. Assigned only where scheduled traffic exists, so thousands of business aviation airfields have no IATA code at all. For charter, quote the ICAO code — it is unambiguous.

What is a business jet terminal?
A business jet terminal — an FBO — is a separate building on the same airfield as the airline terminal, with its own apron, security and parking. You arrive fifteen minutes before departure, walk past a desk rather than a queue, and board from the ramp. Big fields have several competing FBOs; small ones have a single operator handling everything.
Why the terminal changes the price
Handling, ramp and parking are billed by the FBO, not by the airport, and the same aircraft can cost several hundred dollars more on one side of the field than the other. Overnight parking at a metro field is the item that surprises people most — moving the stop to a quieter airport nearby often costs less than the extra flying.
